AFTER dodging a bullet 12 months ago, bookmakers were last night taking no chances ahead of Saturday's Betfair Sprint, and one firm quoted favourite Ancien Regime at just 4-1.

Layers were spared a potential payout estimated at pounds 500,000 on the heavily backed Utmost Respect when the York race, then sponsored by William Hill, was abandoned last year.
