Digital. It's replaced film for most cameras and is the coming thing for television. And for the first time, it's on echo sounders for commercial fishermen. In this year's look at some of the new fishfinding electronics, both Furuno and Koden have a digital offering. But don't throw out the older traditions too quickly. Simrad has found a new use for one of its established sounders, MAQ is finally putting together its 15-kHz unit with a five-mile range, and Marport has new sensors and a sounder.
