Gennady A. LAVRINOV was born on June 11, 1959 in Tambov. He finished F.E. Dzerzhlnsky Tambov Higher Military Air Engineering School (1981), post-graduate department of N.E. Zhukovsky Air Force Engineering Academy (1987), and Higher Courses under the General Staff Academy in the specialty Defense and Security (2006). He first served in line units, and later took up teaching. In 1989, he joined the 46th Central Research Institute (CRT) of the RF Ministry of Defense, where he rose through the ranks from junior research fellow to directorate chief. At the present time, he is the Institute's deputy chief for scientific work.
