ATHENS, June 9 (PNA/Xinhua) -- Authorities have been on alert after a 6.5-magnitude quake in southwest Greece killed two people and injured dozens of others Sunday afternoon, Athens News Agency reported Monday.

Greek Prime Minister Kostas Karamanlis has decided that those whose houses were destroyed in the quake will each receive 3,000 euros as aid, while Athens Mayor Nikitas Kaklamanis has promised an additional 2,000 euros from KEDKE reserves, the report said.
