The Molson Coors Web site boasts that the company's Canadian-bred beer, Molson Canadian, delivers "true Canadian taste."
But the popular beer isn't the brewer's top-selling brand in Canada. Nope. That distinction belongs to . . . Coors Light. The Colorado native is the No. 2 selling brand in Canada, behind rival Labatt Blue.
Now, Peter Swinburn wants to bring Coors Light to the rest of the world. The Welshman, tapped Tuesday to be the new Molson Coors CEO, hopes to place the beer among the ranks of the world's top-selling exports: the Dutch beer Heineken and Mexico's Corona.
