Safe to drink.(INNOVATIONS)

A number of pharmaceuticals--including antibiotics, anticonvulsants, mood stabilizers and sex hormones--have recently been found in the drinking water of at least 41 million Americans. While the concentrations of these pharmaceuticals are tiny, the presence of so many prescription drugs--and over-the-counter medicines like acetaminophen and ibuprofen--in so much of the drinking water has scientists worried about the long-term consequences to human health.
