CEBU CITY, Feb. 25 (PNA) Sta. Fe, one of the three towns in Bantayan Island, a favorite destination for both local and foreign tourists during the Holy Week, has banned the holding of bikini opens during Lent.

The island is known for its resorts and a papal exemption that allows residents to eat meat during the Lenten season.

During the Spanish times, the Vatican granted the island with an indult or a license allowing an act that is ordinarily not allowed by Church laws, in this case, eating meat during Holy Week as early villagers which are mostly fishermen stop fishing during Lent.
