Digital printing is one of the fastest expanding sectors in the graphics industry, with much of the impetus coming from the intense competition between the two main digital processes: inkjet and electrophotographic (EP) or laser printing.
With both systems, much of the drive to improve print quality, while at the same time reducing costs, has stemmed from advances in engineering, electronics and above all the chemistry of inks, which in the case of EP are toners or dry inks.
