Four generations of Durans have served well as role models for the Jackson-based custom homebuilding company.

First, Eddie Duran learned the construction trade from his father, Charles, who supervises the building of every Duran home, and his paternal grandfather, Edward George, who began in the trade as a trim carpenter for J.E. Carter.

In 1980, Eddie and his wife of a year, Naomi, established Duran Homes and developed a niche market for quality-built custom homes in Central Mississippi. Today, their son, Josh, a recent Mississippi College graduate, represents the family business as a fourth-generation builder.
