In honour of Christiane Harzig.(Obituary)(Brief article)

Christiane H.E. Harzig, whose research and writing in the history of gender, labour, women, and migration will be familiar to many Labour/Le Travail readers, died 6 November 2007. She will be missed by her many friends, students, and colleagues.

Her loss is felt keenly by her loving partner and intellectual collaborator, Dirk Hoerder, and other family members.

Christiane inspired students on both sides of the Atlantic, many of them young women. They warmed to Christiane's passionate commitment to her fields of study, and recognized a woman who valued knowledge and tolerance.
