Introduced in the United States in November 1994, and recently in Canada, the Crowne Plaza Preferred program offers its members a variety of special privileges, including complimentary room upgrades, extended check-out, and the opportunity to collect Crowne Plaza Preferred Points redeemable for merchandise, retail gift certificates and hotel awards. Members also have the option of collecting frequent flyer miles -- instead of points -- from their choice of 13 global frequent flyer programs.
