Visual Basic's Office comeback; Users won't see feature until next version of Office for Mac.(PRODUCTIVITY)(Microsoft Corp.)(Brief article)

Microsoft announced that it will be adding back support for Visual Basic for Applications (VBA) to Microsoft Office for Mac--a direct result of complaints from users about the removal of the suite's cross platform automation functionality.

Microsoft will restore VBA in the next full upgrade to the Mac version of Office, the company said. However, Office 2008, which was sharply criticized for omitting VBA, will get only bug-fix updates (such as Service Pack 1-go to macworld.com/3616 for information); it will not be updated to add VBA support.
