$40,000 for a container of $20,000 imported wineglasses. That was the most expensive purchase on Robert Renzoni's shopping list when he began setting up the tasting room at his new winery in Southern California's Temecula Valley this spring. In March, Renzoni was still in the process of bottling his first vintage: 6,000 cases of wines from Robert Renzoni Vineyards.
Renzoni expects to sell some 80% of his production--eventually to cap out at 15,000 cases-through the tasting room and his new wine club; the rest will be distributed directly to local restaurants.
