Long-term, rapid growth predicted for Indian technical textiles.(Markets)

US researchers have forecast that India's nonwoven and technical textile industry will enjoy average annual growth of 13.3% for the period 2005 to 2050, more than double the yearly 5-6% expected in the USA and Europe.

The study was undertaken at the Nonwoven and Advanced Materials Laboratory at The Institute of Environmental and Human Health, Texas Tech University. Conducted by Seshadri Ramkumar, an assistant professor and expert in the field of nonwoven fabric technology, and Appachi Arunachalam, a visiting scholar from India, it measures growth opportunities for the nonwoven and technical textile industry in India.
