The common modifier for the Rockies lately is "resurgent," meaning a rise from someplace awful, and who won't argue that last place is rather disgusting, never mind that the Rockies remain there.

And considering they still have the next-to-worst record in the National League, the description may be a bit generous.

Maybe a better word would be "tolerable" or "bearable," not so much a return to excellence as a departure from dreadfulness.
