TYNESIDE fuel tanker drivers were picketing today in a bitter pay row.

Six workers, the legal picket line limit, were outside the Shell terminal in Jarrow at 6am.

Police watched on as the drivers began what could be a four-day strike.

The pay disputes erupted after the trade union Unite claimed workers were paid no more now than in 1992 - around pounds 32,000 per year.
