A roadside coffee break in Marshall last fall brewed up a new company that has quickly become a leading employer in the community of 1,318.
American Stitchco Inc. has hired 26 workers since starting production in Searcy County in mid-October. The plant's work force is expected to double by spring.
That would position the operation as the second-largest manufacturer in town, topped only by the Flint Rock Shirt plant's 300-plus employees.
