Project develops sandwich panels for interiors.(OFFICE, RETAIL AND DOMESTIC)

Bayer MaterialScience, Germany, in conjunction with Hochschule Ostwestfalen-Lippe University of Applied Sciences, has developed sandwich materials for interior design. (See also, image on page 1.)

The year-long project, titled Inside Outside--Building with Sandwiches, examined surfaces, core layers and intermediate layers, with a view to their suitability for use in construction applications. Further, the project focused on areas including large-area translucent components with a polyurethane (PU) foam core and facings made of a transparent polycarbonate (Bayer's Makrolon grade).
