The death of Yitzhak Rabin outline's in sharp detail the qualities of a genuine peacemaker, for in peacemaking, as in any other human activity, it is not always easy to distinguish the true peacemaker from the posturer.
Rabin knew that peacemaking entailed risks -- risks of policy, risks of rejection by his people, risks of the loss of the premiership. Ultimately, he put his life at risk.
