It's precipitate to declare something as "writing beyond category," just as other hoping-to-catch-the-trend-wave marketers learned in the late eighties that "dangerous" fiction was a fiction in itself. Nevertheless, there are some categorically wonderful surprises in the pages of Degenerative Prose, which is not only an anthology, but a double anniversary issue of Black Ice Magazine. This book is a mixture of fictions, prose poems, essays, mock interviews, and graphic art.
