Singer/songwriter Ashanti said it wasn't her plan to be away from the music scene for four years. It was beyond her control because of conflicts with her record label, The Inc.
Now that she's returned, the Princess of Hip-Hop and R&B has taken control of her comeback.
"When someone throws you overboard from the ship, either you sink or swim," Ashanti said. "I decided to swim. It's been so long. Everyone is wondering what is going to happen. You have to go through that to grow, where you fall flat on your face or fly successfully. You need to experience both to succeed."
