A new law allows employees who are victims of domestic violence, sexual assault or stalking to take a "reasonable" leave from work to seek legal advice, medical attention, counseling, or other social services. Family members of the victim may also take a reasonable leave to assist them with obtaining services.
The term "family member" in the law is written to include children, spouses, parents, in-laws, grandparents or any person with whom the employee has a dating relationship.
