Braden Reeves and his sister Brenda Reeves are the two Bs in "B&B" Fruit Stand. They started the business in 1962 at their parents' request.
"They basically said, 'Here kids, you are going to do this for the summer'," Braden Reeves remembered with a smile. Being used to working around the orchard, they readily obliged.
"Dad used to get us up at 6 in the summer and we'd thin apples all day. We were raised with a good work ethic," Braden Reeves said.
Braden was 12, and Brenda was 14 when the stand opened.
Their father, Edsel Reeves was a fruit orchardist, and he supplied all the peaches, apples, cherries and pears the kids could sell. And sell they did. The ...
