Kelly's Hardware: customer service still the ton tool of the trade.(ALL IN THE FAMILY)

Pat Kelly has childhood memories of riding in the flatbed truck to the train station for a load of General Electric appliances for Kelly's Hardware in downtown Chelan.

This was in the late '60s and early '70s, when shipments were delivered by rail.

A few years later, he was in charge of the store's bicycles, a job he continued through high school.

Things have changed since then--the store doesn't sell appliances or bicycles anymore and most deliveries now are made twice a week, right to the door.

But other things remain the same.
