SOUTH Down DUP Assembly candidate William Burns has said he still remains totally opposed to a National Park for the Mournes and Slieve Croob areas.
The DUP representative stated that over the past number of months he has attended many meetings and debates on a National Park.
"I have yet to hear a single landowner, or farmer or indeed anyone say to me how great they think it would be for the area," he continued.
"The rural community have been asking many questions and raising many major concerns about a National Park. Not one person has been able to answer their questions or concerns.
