PARIS -- The Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche Boutique on the Champs Elysees is bankrupt and is closing its doors on March 6 after 20 years of business.
The shop, the only remaining YSL-franchised boutique in Paris, is owned by Ayse Jourdan, the wife of the grandson of the late Charles Jourdan, the shoe designer.
The circumstances surrounding the closing remain unclear. Jourdan said she was forced to declare bankruptcy due to distribution problems with Mendes, the licensed manufacturer and distributor of the Rive Gauche and Variation collections.
