One late winter night each year, Alan Martell pulls on three layers of clothing, grabs two parkas and a pair of boots, packs a sleeping bag and lawn chair and then heads to the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, arriving around midnight.
He sits outside the museum until Hall of Fame Game tickets go on sale. He stays awake by talking baseball with others who are waiting. Not long after dawn, he buys three tickets for $11 each.
