Local government officials seem to be taking a "wait and see" approach to a recent surge of discussion regarding a possible expansion and privatization of the Newnan-Coweta Airport.
Coweta County Commission Chairman Tim Higgins said he's willing to listen to new ideas, but he's also far from sold on the concept.
"My personal opinion is that there are a lot of ideas being thrown out there, but right now it's just an idea," Higgins said.
"A lot of research has to be done," he said. "There would be some positives, but there would be some negatives, too. Right now, I am interested, and I want to hear more.
