A. Flying foxes have nothing to do with the furry four-footed animals their name implies. They are fruit bats. There are many types of these bats _ more than 80 species have been identified, and experts say there are many more. Flying foxes can live to be 30 years old. They are found in India, Ceylon, the slopes of the Himalayas, the Philippines, Australia, Madagascar, and many other places throughout the world.
