Technology Will Enable Opta to Develop New Food Ingredients
BEDFORD, Mass., Feb. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Opta Food Ingredients, Inc. (Nasdaq: OPTS), confirmed today that it has obtained an exclusive license from the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) for a proprietary new technological process, often referred to as Fantesk by the USDA, which involves coprocessing starch, hydrocolloids and oil to create new food ingredients. Under the terms of the agreement, Opta will provide royalty and milestone payments to the USDA.
