FIFTEEN-YEAR-OLD Greg Smith (Gate BC) has ambitions to be a top bowler and footballer as he is on schoolboy forms with Villa.
He became the first player to retain the W&W Junior Merit title and collected the pounds 100 first prize, beating some of his junior county colleagues in the process.
After wins of 21/16, 21/10 and 21/16 he defeated Adam Parton- Smith 21/20 in his semi-final before beating Jon Palmer 21/15 in the final.
BOLDMERE St Michaels, in fourth place and six points behind leaders George with a game in hand in W&W Premier Division One, nearly closed that gap at the Warley venue in spectacular fashion.
