As we prepare for the 48th National Convention of the League of Women Voters of the United States, I find myself getting very excited at the thought that we will be meeting just five months before what will be one of the most remarkable presidential elections in our nation's history. It's now almost certain that either an African American or a woman will be the presidential nominee of a major political party in the November General Election.
