BrainStorm Cell Therapeutics Inc., of Petach Tikvah, Israel, said it was awarded $870,000 from Israel's Chief Scientist Office to fund the continuing development of treatments for amyotrophic lateral sclerosis and Parkinson's disease. The grant requires that the firm provide a 3 percent royalty to the Israeli government's Ministry of Trade and Industry program, which offers incentives to high-tech and biotech companies to enhance their research and development. The company previously was awarded a $340,000 grant by the CSO in 2007.
