Grocers and restaurateurs have pulled most tomatoes from their shelves and menus as a multistate salmonellis outbreak Monday was confirmed to have hit Oregon.
The outbreakhas been going on since mid-April and has sickened 166 people in 17 states, resulting in at least 23 hospitalizations, according to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.
Over the weekend, the FDA expanded its warning to consumers nationwide. The agency is advising people not to eat, and retailers not to sell or serve, raw Roma, raw plum and raw red round tomatoes or products that contain those kinds of tomatoes unless they can confirm ...
