It began when I was in fourth grade. My parents and a teacher noticed I was rolling my eyes excessively.
The eye rolling triggered my parents' thoughts of previous eye blinking, nose twitching, and clearing my throat, just to name a few movements and sounds I had made since I was young.
After seeing multiple doctors, "it" would be diagnosed as Tourette syndrome by a neurologist. With the help of my family, a great school and an open mind, I was able to see Tourette syndrome not as a disability, but rather as a challenge.
