A DEESIDE community is celebrating its purchase of Slewdrum Forest from Forestry Commission Scotland.
Birse Community Trust has bought the 167 hectare forest under the commission's National Forest Land Scheme, which allows communities to apply to buy national forest land to deliver increased public benefits.
The sale of Slewdrum is the first of its kind made by Forestry Commission Scotland through the scheme which the trust has played a valuable role in developing.
