A LOCAL representative has called for a re-examination of flood defence mechanisms in the Antrim area following the recent extreme weather.
SDLP South Antrim MLA, Thomas Burns said that the current infrastructure is not capable of coping with unexpected demands posed by the type of weather experienced last week.
He said that this is now a "matter of urgency."
Antrim was the latest area to be affected, following recent flash floods in East Belfast, Cushendall, the coastal area of North Antrim and several other places.
