AN ANTRIM councillor has expressed confusion over the possibility that his son may have been targeted in a pipe bomb attack.
DUP councillor, John Smyth said despite reports that his 26-year-old son had been targeted, the police had not confirmed it to be true.
A police spokesperson said bomb disposal experts examined a suspicious object in the Seacash Walk area of Antrim on Sunday and that a viable pipe bomb was discovered just before 1pm and taken away for examination.
A number of people were moved from their homes to the local community centre while police carried out searches.
