Maliki Talks Of 'Dead End'.

Visiting Amman after talks in Tehran, PM Maliki on June 13 said the talks with the US on a new security deal had reached a "dead end" because of US demands, adding: "when we started the talks, we found that the US demands hugely infringe on the sovereignty of Iraq". He said Baghdad objected to Washington's insistence on giving its troops immunity from prosecution in Iraq and freedom to conduct operations independent of Iraqi control.
