NEAL HERMON celebrated his debut as Academy captain by leading his side to a win by 92 runs at the expense of Millpark.
In the absence of regular skipper, Gerry Sloan, paceman Neal stood in as deputy, and had immediate success by winning the toss in Gilford in this Division 1 Section 3 fixture.
His decision to ask the home side to field was vindicated, when David Menaul weighed in with his maiden century for the club, following his transfer from Cliftonville. David hit superb 118, which included 3x6s and 18x4s. His knock was also the first century scored by anyone in the club this season, and earned him the Man of the Match accolade.
