SAN JOSE, Calif. _ For the second year in a row, this spring's property tax bills will contain some good news for Californians: a tax increase of just 1.11 percent, the lowest in 13 years.
The state tax board is officially informing county assessors today (Feb. 27) that they will not be able to raise tax bills the full 2 percent allowed under Proposition 13. The credit, just as last year, goes to California's minuscule inflation rate.
