EPA Honors Hawthorne Machinery.

San Diego, Calif.- Hawthorne Machinery Company was recognized by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency for its innovative efforts to reduce diesel and greenhouse gas emissions. Hawthorne is part of a pilot project that supports the EPA's Cleanup - Clean Air Initiative. Due to advanced emissions standards on Caterpillar machinery, and further improvements by Hawthorne technicians, cleaner-burning construction equipment is being used to remove contaminated soil from the military base.
