Article: FUEL CONSUMPTION & EMISSIONS : DIRECTIVE ON CAR LABELLING SET FOR REVIEW.

The public consultation on information provided to consumers on fuel consumption and CO2 emissions from new cars, launched by the European Commission on 2 June, represents the first step in the revision of the directive requiring car makers to make such information available for new cars placed on the market(1). The revision is needed, says the EU executive, because the directive has not worked as well as it could. The consultation will run until 28 July 2008(2).
