Seattle -- After a national search, the Associated General Contractors of Washington has named David D'Hondt as the new executive director.

D'Hondt previously was the director of Safety and Risk Management for Absher Construction, Puyallup, Wash., and was president of the AGC chapter in 2007. Dick Bristow , who returned to the AGC as executive director in 2006 on in interim basis, will work with D'Hondt during a transition period.

The Search Committee, with representation from various elements of the AGC, had been working to find a permanent executive director since last fall.
