Thanks for the article, "Guess Who Sells Your Weave?" (May 2008). The Korean-Americans have become dominant players in many types of small businesses such as dry cleaners, liquor stores, small grocery stores and hair salons, mainly because of their willingness to work hard and put in long hours, using primarily family labor. Also, these small businesses do not require much capital to start, allowing many to get their foot in the door. They are not rich people. In most cases, families usually use their entire lifesavings to start their small businesses.
