A MAJOR marketing drive will boost the number of ex-patriot Borderers returning next year for common ridings and local equestrian festivals.
On Monday, it was announced that the Return to the Ridings initiative, supported by Scottish Borders Council on behalf of 11 local organising committees, is to receive [pounds sterling]35,000 from the Scottish Government.
It is part of the [pounds sterling]1million allocated nationally for such themed events to celebrate the Year of Homecoming which marks the 250th anniversary of the birth of Robert Burns and is aimed at encouraging thousands of extra visitors to "come back" to Scotland.
