THE words of Winston Churchill were evoked today by the father of the first Britishwoman to be killed serving in Afghanistan.

Des Feely said nothing much had changed since the days of the famous speech made by the wartime prime minister, as he paid tribute to his daughter Sarah Bryant.

Speaking at his home in the Cumbrian countryside, he said: "There are so many people both in the military and locally where she grew up that are not only going to be touched by this but also devastated at the loss of such a beautiful girl.
