Leaders of the Snug Harbor Lakes adult community want to buy a 7-acre former water-sewer plant property from Brevard County for parking residents' boats and recreational vehicles.

But some residents are opposing the purchase, saying it wouldn't benefit anyone who doesn't have a boat or camper to park there.

"The rest of us are going to foot the bill, with no intent that we would use this. My heirs would have no intent to use this, and I'd have to pay twice," Snug Harbor Lakes resident Juanita Cox said this week.
