A Fair and Balanced Allocation Included Among Major Changes Planned for Pacific Whiting and Groundfish Fisheries

FOSTER CITY, Calif. -- The Pacific Fishery Management Council voted for their preferred alternative for an Individual Quota Management system. Among many other important details, the Council provided allocation of shore-side whiting and shore-side non-whiting (groundfish) 20 percent to processors and 80 percent to harvesters. Final action on the program will occur at the Council's November meeting.
