When new staff is asked who funds the medical equipment at the Welland hospital, 80 per cent believe it's the government -but that just isn't the case.
What they don't know is the majority of equipment is funded with the generous donations of the community to the Welland Hospital Foundation, said foundation executive director Heather Scott-Ventresca during the annual general meeting Wednesday night.
"We raised $68,000 more than we expected to raise," said Scott- Ventresca regarding the 2007-08 fundraising campaign.
"We were very successful this year with the support from 3,668 individuals, businesses, organizations ...
